Catching Up

Are you ready yet?

David laughed to see the text. His fingers flew over the keyboard.

Yes, Oh Impatient One. Stop by my room on your way down.

He’d had a wonderful day so far. They’d gone to the Arndale Centre to find the hairdressers Cameron had located on his phone, and Cameron had sat facing him while Erroll had snipped and fussed with his hair. When David had seen the final result, he’d gaped.

That’s not me, is it?

Erroll had cut his hair into short layers, removing his straggly fringe and leaving him with wisps of hair on his forehead. Cameron’s gaze had been very appreciative, and he’d reached out to stroke the back of David’s head as soon as they’d left the salon. The light, intimate touch had sent a tremor skating down David’s spine.

Then there had been a couple of hours of clothes shopping, and David had loved every minute. He’d been amazed by the clothes Cameron had coerced him into trying on, but he couldn’t deny the man had good taste. He’d come away with three or four bags, and the possibility of two or three different looks for the evening. Cameron had been dying to know what he was going to wear, but David had given nothing away.

Let’s see his reaction to this ensemble.

Then it occurred to him that in less than twenty-four hours, he’d be back in Surrey, and this idyllic weekend would be over. The thought made his heart sink.

A knock on the door brought him back into the moment. David opened it and then stood back. Cameron crossed the threshold and stopped dead. “Oh wow.”

His heart beat rapidly. “What do you think?” He’d gone with the skin-tight black jeans and the dark blue top which hugged his torso. Part of him was still protesting that this wasn’t quite the look for cocktails and a five course meal, but David was in a reckless mood. He hadn’t seen the others in fifteen years and he wasn’t likely to set them again in the foreseeable future, but he wanted to leave them with an impression.

And this is a new David, he thought, his pulse racing. The feeling was exhilarating.

Cameron licked his lips. “You do know I’m seriously thinking of kicking this whole meal into touch and just holing up with you in your room for the night?” He edged closer until his breath fanned David’s cheek. “You look amazing. Edible.” He leaned forward and brushed his lips over David’s ear, sending shivers throughout his body. “Fuckable,” he whispered, slipping his hand lower to cup David’s burgeoning erection.

“Down, boy.” David breathed deeply. His skin flushed hot and cold at Cameron’s touch, his suggestion. “We’re already late, and there are thirteen people downstairs waiting to see us.”

Cameron let out a sigh. “Spoilsport.” He pulled away, but not before he bestowed a sweet kiss on David’s cheek. “Let’s go see how the gang turned out.”

David grabbed his wallet and key card, and they left the room. He could just about fit them into his back jeans pocket.
